La Baule Gallery, based in Miyagi, Japan, aims to spread artists' work to many people with a view to domestic and overseas sales. The client's request for a logo design was that it symbolises Japan, is recognisable for people from other countries, and has an impact.
My design incorporates Mt. Fuji and waves boldly drawn with a brush into the logo design, both of which are highly recognised in Ukiyo-e (Woodblock Printing). By putting the design in a circle, cohesion and familiarity were created.
